I don’t know if I have said this on the blog before, but I love movies, I have love them since I was a child and my dad had a movie rental store and let me watch all the movies over and over again. I used to watch a lot more movies than I do now, because with two majors is hard to find the time, but I still love movies and I really enjoy watching them when I have the time. There are a few movies that are being released this month and that I really want to watch. Here are my most anticipated movie releases of september 2015:
1) 99 Holmes (September 25, 2015) – Trailer
Set amidst the backdrop of the 2008 housing market catastrophe, Dennis Nash, a hard-working and honest man, can’t save his family home despite his best efforts. Thrown to the streets with alarming precision by real estate shark Mike Carver, Dennis, out of work and luck, is given a unique opportunity – to join Carver’s crew and put others through the harrowing ordeal done to him in order to earn back what’s his.
This movie looks great. It seem to be character driven which I love, and it has a cast of great actors to pull the characters off. Also, it was really well received at TIFF, which I think it’s a great sign and got me intrigued to watch it.
2) About Ray
(September 18, 2015)
When a young woman (Elle Fanning) decides to transition from female to male, her announcement is met with both opposition and support from her mother (Naomi Watts) and her lesbian grandmother (Susan Sarandon).
This movie has a great cast, the three main characters are played by actresses that have done some great movies in the past. Also, I think it’s important how trans stories are being told more often. It’s still hard to know if this movie did it right, but for the trailers it looks like it did. Nonetheless, it’s a shame that there’s not a trans person telling this story.
3) Sleeping with other People (September 11, 2015) – Trailer
Jason Sudeikis and Alison Brie star as two romantic failures whose years of serial infidelity and self-sabotage have led them to swear that their relationship will remain strictly platonic. But can love still bloom while you’re sleeping with other people?
This is the kind of comedy I found funny and it has a great cast that can actually be funny and deliver great one-liners, so I’m realy excited to watch. Also, it looks like a new take in a movie we have seen a lot of times before.
4) Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials ( September 18, 2015)
In this next chapter of the epic “Maze Runner” saga, Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his fellow Gladers face their greatest challenge yet: searching for clues about the mysterious and powerful organization known as WCKD. Their journey takes them to the Scorch, a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles. Teaming up with resistance fighters, the Gladers take on WCKD’s vastly superior forces and uncover its shocking plans for them all.
I read the books and I liked them, and I watched the first movie and liked it, so I will definitely watch this one. Also, I think these movies have such a great cast and that makes me want to watch even more.
What movies do you want to watch this month? What movies did you watch last month? Did you like them?
