My summer break has officially started and I’m so excited to have more time to read. Actually, last week I had enough free time (I only had one last paper to turn in) that it felt like my break had started already. I managed to read 6 books from my summer list during last week, which means they are no longer on the list, but I want to tell you which ones were they so you have an idea of the original list. The books were 1st to Die by James Patterson, the All for the Game series by Nora Sakavic (The Foxhole Court, The Raven King and The King’s Men), Emma by Jane Austen and The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi.
Here is my remaining summer TBR list.
The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
The last book in this trilogy came out recently and a lot of people were saying good things about it, which made me want to read it. Also, I like to binge reading trilogies or series, so that’s probably what I’ll do with this one.
The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson
I’m currently reading this, I wanted a fun, fluffy contemporary, so I picked it up. Also, I have loved every single Morgan Matson book I have read, so I was anticipating this one.
A Clash of Kings by George R.R Martin
I watched the first 3 season of the show and then stopped. But I was still intrigued, so I read the first book and really liked it. Now, I’m thinking of starting to watch the show again, and I definitely want to read this book. Even if it’s huge and very intimidating.
The Wise Man’s Fear by Patrick Rothfuss
This book is SO LONG, that’s why I saved it for summer break. I wanted to have the time to read it without having to stop every few pages. I’m a bit worried because I read the first book in this series a long time ago and I don’t remember it that well. But we’ll see…
The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz
This book won the Pulitzer Prize and I have found that I have enjoyed the Puitzer Prize winner that I have read so far. That’s why I decided to read this. Also, The writer and the main character are latinos, so that’s a plus for me.
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
A lot of people say this is there favorite classic, so I thought I would give it a chance.
The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
I have been meaning to read this since a bunch of booktubers read it and loved it. That was a really long time ago and it’s time for me to finally read this.
The Secret History by Donna Tartt
Someone said that this was similar to The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater, so I decided to give it a chance.
Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour
I need more LGTBQ books in my life and this is were I’m starting. If anyone has recommendations, I would appreciate them. (contemporaries, please. YA or NA)
If you posted a summer tbr list, let the link in the comments because I would love to check it out! If you didn’t, tell me what are you planning to read in the summer.
