2020 Book Blogger Awards Nominations

Hi everyone! Today, I’m happy to share my nominations for the Fourth Annual 2020 Book Blogger Awards which is hosted by May from Forever and Everly and Marie from Drizzle and Hurricane Books.

I’ll be mentioning so many amazing blogs and I really hope you check them out and follow them!

Best Pre-Teen/Teen Book Blogger (13-19)

Carol @ Santana Reads Carol is one of the coolest people I have ever met. They create the most hilarious, unique, and thoughtful content, and they have such a funny, strong voice that comes through in all their post. I love their reviews and discussions because they are written in a conversational tone that will make you feel like a friend is talking to you about books or about a specific topic, which is so cool.

Best Adult Book Blogger (20+)

howling libraries

Destiny @Howling Libraries I have been following Destiny’s blog for years and I have always admired her for her dedication, her consistency, and her amazing content. I always leave her blog wanting to read the books she talks about even if they are books from genres I don’t usually read, which I think it’s a testament to how much of her passion and her voice comes through in her posts.

Best Book Reviews

Natalie @ The Fine Art of Reading I love Natalie’s review because of the way she discusses the themes explored in the books she reads. I find her reviews so smart and profound. Her voice comes through very clearly in her review and she always makes me want to read the books she talks about.

Alicia @ A Kernel of Nonsense Alicia always manages to make me want to read the books she reviews and I’m happy to say that so far I have enjoyed every book I have read because I saw her review of it. Her reviews are always so thoughtful, articulate, and smart, and I love her focus on reviewing diverse books and especially books by Latinx authors.

Best Book Recommendations

A Book. A Thought.

Sofii @ A Book A Thought Sofii is not only the nicest blogger ever she also writes the best recommendations lists. I love how she chooses overly specific topics to give recommendations and most of the time I don’t know I want recs on that topic until I see her list and then I end up with a bunch of new books on my tbr.

Best Discussion Posts

Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books I have been following Marie’s blog for years and she has always been a huge inspiration to me. Her discussions are articulate and thought-provoking and she always chooses topics that are so relevant and important for the community. I particularly love all her discussions about being a book blogger.

Best Blog Aesthetic

Small Stained Pages

Riv is a lovely human, who is so supportive and her content is amazing. Riv’s blog is so pretty, the combination of soft pink and white is very feminine and calming and I love it. Also, the cohesiveness in the look of her blog is so pleasant to me. But my favorite thing about her blog’s aesthetic is that it’s a perfect reflection of who Riv is and I think anyone how knows Riv can see that, which is cool.

clairefy

Claire @ Clairefy Claire is such a nice and thoughtful person, her reflections about diversity in books are amazing and her blog is so pretty! I like blog aesthetics that reflect who the person behind the blog is and the way Claire’s blog looks is so Claire. The look of her blog is delicate and soft but really cool at the same time.

Best Blogging/Writing Voice

Cande @ Latinx Magic Cande is one of the sweetest humans ever. I love the fact that their passion comes thorugh in all their reviews and posts. Their voice is thoughtful, funny and a bit sassy. Usually I only read reviews of books I’m interested in, but Cande’s voice is so engaging that I have found myself reading her reviews of books that I have cero interest in reading. That’s the power of their blogging voice!

Young Adult

BOOKATHON

Krisha @ Bookathon Krisha’s reviews of YA titles are amazing and her project Woven in Books where she highlights diverse books, authors and creators is so valuable. She is always reviewing diverse YA books and the format she uses to review books is so thorough and useful.

Romance

Confessions of a Pinay Bookaholic

Beatrice @Confessions of a Pinay Bookaholic I love Beatrice’s recommendations when it comes to romance, her lists of recs have saved me when choosing the tbr for more than one readathon. Her reviews are always great at helping me decide if I want to read a book or not.

Science Fiction/ Fantasy

Acqua @Acquadimore Books: Acqua reads a lot of SFF and their discussions about these genres, whether is the importance of queer worlds or about rules and magic systems, are always thought-provoking and interesting. Their reviews are amazing and I trust their opinion when it comes to SFF books so much.

Most Supportive

A Book. A Thought.

Sofii @ A Book A Thought Sofii is a lovely human, she is nice and warm. Often when I visit blogs I find her comments in other people’s posts, she is always taking the time to engage with the content of other bloggers and she highlights that content in her own posts. I have found a lot of amazing bloggers and lots of blogs to follow thanks to her. She is a treasure of the blogging community.

Friendliest Member of the Community

Tessi @ Cosmic Book Love Tessi is funny, kind, honest, and open. Thanks to her I found a group of amazing people that are now some of my closest friends in the community. She has done such a great job in the Soshelf Distancing Book Club of creating a safe and welcoming environment for so many book bloggers and bookstagrammers and I’m so grateful for everything she does.

Dani @ Metamorphoreader Dani is sweet and kind, she is always ready to listen if you need her or to answer questions. Dani is one of the persons in this community that I feel I can always go to and I see her interactions with other bloggers and bookish content creators on Twitter and she’s always ready to help and to support others.

Best at Promoting Diverse Books

Fadwa @ Word Wonders Fadwa’s commitment to promoting and supporting diverse books and marginalized authors is outstanding, she always serves as a voice to uplift them.  The “Color the Shelves” feature on her blog is fantastic and it takes so much work and dedication and it deserves all the recognition in the world.

Adriana @Boricua Reads Adriana is such a huge champion for diverse books in all their platforms and I think no one does more to promote Latinx authors and books than they do. Their #ReadLatinx lists for each season, where they talks about almost every single release by a Latinx Author in every genre and age group, are impressive and such a labor of love. They deserves so much more recognition.

Best Overall Book Blogger

A Book. A Thought.

Sofii @ A Book A Thought if you were paying attention, you may have noticed that Sofii is the only blogger that I mentioned more than once in this post. For me, she has the two most important things to be the best book blogger: she gives the best book recommendation and she supports other bloggers all the time. She is so welcoming and warm and because of that, she makes this community better.
